"The Story of the Cultural Legacy of Matija Petar Katančić" is the largest project approved to the City of Valpovo in recent history. It reconstructed the central town square enriched with numerous facilities and thus became a new recognizable face of the town of Valpovo. In addition to the reconstruction of the square and the renovated parish church, the Educational and Interpretation Center located in the old town hall was arranged, and the central place was taken by the Katančić Memorial Center - a modern building with a multifunctional hall and a souvenir shop where you can buy products with Valpo motifs. . In the attic of the Center there is a multifunctional space for various cultural events such as exhibitions, literary evenings and book promotions.

The square is interwoven with digital dots that offer visitors a virtual and educational walk through the history of the city with the virtual Katančić, the most famous man from Valpovo who is known as the most learned Slavonian of the 18th and 19th centuries. There is a fountain on the square with 11 nozzles that form a stylized letter V. The nozzles in the plane of the paved surface provide light effects and an attractive appearance, especially at night, and give habitants of Valpovo a new look. The square is a place for various cultural and educational events such as "Days of Matija Petar Katančić" or "Matijafest". The mobile assembly stage is set up as needed.
