Jasenovac is located in the extreme southeastern part of Sisak-Moslavina County on the plain between the rivers Trebež, Sava, Una and Struga. It has 10 settlements.
Almost the entire area of the municipality is located in the Lonjsko Polje Nature Park, the best preserved wetland in Europe with a rich cultural, natural and historical heritage.
In the settlement of Kraplje there is an ornithological reserve Kraplje đol, an old drained tributary of the river Sava, inhabited by a large number of bird species. In the restored traditional houses, lodgings have been opened that offer healthy indigenous food and drink, swimming, cycling, hunting and traditional fishing.
Near Jasenovac is the memorial Jasenovac, the site of the largest ustasha camp in World War II and one of the largest monuments of the holocaust and genocide in our area. With its monumental monument in the shape of a flower, it says that crimes never happen to human civilization again.
