The last weekend in April is reserved for the IXS European Downhill Cup. In 2018, Lošinj was a host to Mercedes Benz UCI Mountainbike World Cup downhill race. Multiple UCI Class 1 races were held on a rocky track since 2013.
The race is certified in the highest category of the UCI (Class 1) and will attract the best downhillers from all over the world.
Divided into categories, about two hundred competitors from twenty countries will take part in the downhill. Germany, Slovenia, Switzerland, Austria, Norway, France, Hungary, Finland, Czech Republic, Italy, Spain, Poland are just some of the participating countries.
Lošinj Island, the Croatian vacation paradise, offers probably the stoniest course with endless scree. It has already proven its suitability in the World Cup, and four years ago it enjoyed great approval among the riders due to its beautiful location, fantastic weather and enthusiastic fans.
The trail is 1300 m long with a height difference of 245m.T he track is short but rough and rocky, with several big drops and jumps and a unique street section. It is estimated to be around the 2 min mark for the fastest downhill racers.
Follow the stunts of brave cyclists and be along the path whose start is on the hill of Sv. Ivan, and the finish on the coast in Veli Lošinj!
