Wings for Life World Run is a race that needs no description in Croatia. The first Sunday of May in Zadar is already known as a synonym for love, tolerance, togetherness, understanding and hope, and with every step we took, we got closer to the only goal - to make spinal cord injuries a thing of the past. And until that happens, this story will not stop. That is why Zadar, as well as the whole of Croatia, will once again run for those who cannot.
This traditional international race, which collects funds for research into the treatment of spinal cord injuries, has been held in Zadar since its first edition, and this year also in 6 other European cities through official races at the location: Vienna (AUT), Munich (GER), Poznan (POL ), Prague (CZE), Ljubljana (SLO), Zug (SUI). Of course, races with the app are held in many other locations, so the whole world starts at the same time as the race for those who can't. The race starts tomorrow at 13 pm in Croatia - all over the world, day or night, sun or rain, all will run together at the same time and with the same goal - to find a cure for spinal cord injury.
The scenes of race from Zadar travel around the world every year as a great touristic postcard. 8000 runners who arrived at Zadar’s start are coming from 29 countries, but Croatians make up almost 90% of all participants. And this year too in Zadar will gather people with incredible lifestyle stories, volunteers, recreationalists, professionals, people in a wheelchairs. And everyone will have the same goal. Wings for Life World Run is a global humanitarian race that runs at several locations all over the world. Everyone who participates in the race ends it for sure, because the goal is not in front of you, but goes for you. This is the only race in which there is no finish line, but an interceptor vehicle is chasing you, us.
An amount equal to 100% of the amount of all entry fees and donations goes to the non-profit international foundation Wings for Life, which finances cutting-edge scientific and clinical research around the world in order to find a cure for spinal cord injuries.
On May 7, we run for those who can't!
