Rastoke, clad in characteristic travertine and wood, is an old miller's settlement located at the place where the crystal-clear Slunjčica flows into the Korana river over a series of travertine barriers and waterfalls, each of which bears its own name, while the most famous are Buk, Hrvoje and Vilina kosa. You can see all three at the estate of the Holjevac family from close range. Walking through the meadows, you can come across a natural cave, an ethno museum and the Winnetou totem from the movie "Treasure in the Silver Lake".
Canals, rapids, ponds, gardens and green oases connected by bridges, a fairy garden... an oasis of peace and immense happiness. You can also see the Basket that evokes the former way of washing clothes.
The Holjevac family runs a tavern, which provides all visitors with comfortable accommodation and an escape from reality, as well as rest for the soul. Treat yourself after a hard work week and enjoy the wonderful ambiance of the tavern in the heart of Rastok. The tavern offers local and fresh trout from its own pond, which you are watching right now. In addition to home-made trout, guests can enjoy home-made specialties, masnica, proja, žlićnjak, and the mill from which golden home-made flour still flows today. There is also a souvenir shop, items from craft workshops, as well as a loom where traditional customs can be presented. Here you will also be able to buy traditional handicrafts made by women from the village.
The perfect place for a nature escape and the best possible weekendgetaway!
