We are looking at the town of Hvar, a view of the protected town harbor and the historic core.

You can see the Hvar harbor and behind it the lower, sea-side part of the main square of St. Stephen (Pjaca), which is also the largest square in Dalmatia. You can also see the popular Hvar waterfront, which stretches along the entire Pjaca. The view also shows the Hvar Arsenal (a historical shipyard from the 13th century). Above the Arsenal is the oldest public theater in Europe (1612).

The view behind the Arsenal reaches the bell tower of the Baroque Cathedral of St. Stephen, which is located on the upper part of the Pjaca.

Along the waterfront and the Pjaca, you can see the historic houses and palaces of the Pjaca, stone city palaces from the 15th-18th centuries, which have today been converted into famous Hvar hotels, galleries, and restaurants.

In the background, on the hill behind the old town, you can see the Španjola Fortress (Fortica), the main defensive fortress of Hvar.

During the summer season, observe the lively atmosphere on Hvar's waterfront, Pjaca, and the town's harbor full of boats and yachts.
