View of the wide coastal promenade of Split, Riva, and Prokurative, the central city area by the sea known for its bars, palm trees, and sea views. It is a popular promenade and one of the liveliest parts of Split.

Prokurative, or officially Trg Republike, is located in the center of Split, west of Diocletian's Palace, and is also known as the stage for cultural events in the city under Marjan, especially during the summer season. For almost fifty years, Prokurative has also been hosting the traditional pop music festival "Split". Advent on Prokurative is popular in the winter months, during the carnival season, Split Carnival, Split Blues Festival, and others. The square is surrounded by historic buildings in neoclassical architecture, one of which is the Croatian National Theatre Split. There is also a fountain, which is the central landmark of the square.

Nearby is the famous Marmontova Street, the city's main pedestrian street leading from the Riva towards the center, followed by Diocletian's Palace (UNESCO site) and the Peristil and People's Square (Pjaca).
