This year's cruising season in Rijeka started already on April 15, with the arrival of the ship "Alfa Tour" of operator ID Riva.

16 large cruise ships should come to Rijeka this season on round trips, which should bring more than 30,000 passengers. They will be cruisers from 5 cruise companies: Norwegian Cruise Lines, which will arrive in Rijeka with 3 ships, TUI Cruises with its ship "Mein Schiff 5", which visited Rijeka last season, and its 4 arrivals are expected this season.

Holland America Line, Line "maiden call" in Rijeka by the ship "Oosterdam", and for the first time the Fred Olsen Cruise Lines ship "Bolette" will arrive, known for being the first cruise ship to pass under the Pelješki bridge when arriving in Neum.

Some of them will sail to Rijeka for the first time, for example the small passenger cruiser "Artemis" of the Grand Circle Cruise Line company, which will visit Rijeka on three occasions.

"Norwegian Gem" (4 arrivals), "Norwegian Getaway" (2 arrivals) and "Norwegian Dawn" (1 arrival). Of the listed NCL ships, the "Norwegian Getaway" attracts the most attention, because upon arrival in Rijeka, it will become the largest passenger ship that has ever docked, with its 326 meters in length and 52 meters in width, and the expected capacity of almost 4,000 passengers and over 1,600 crew members.

On May 8 and 14, the "Norwegian Gem" sailed into the port of Rijeka, also on July 2. This large cruiser, when it set sail in 2014, was the ninth largest cruiser in the world. It will also be the largest cruise ship that has so far sailed into Rijeka. The longest ship was "MSC Sinfonia" with a length of 275 m, which is also the longest ship that ever entered the Rijeka basin. On September 30, the cruiser "Bolette" will sail in the company of the ship "Mein Schiff 5". The season ends with the "Artemis" departure of the Grand Circle Cruise company on December 6.

During the last tourist season, the port of Rijeka hosted almost 40,000 passengers, who arrived in the city on cruise ships.The announcement of cruise ship arrivals for this year is excellent, and the arrivals of cruise ships extend until the end of the year, which will certainly contribute to an excellent post season.

The excellent position of Rijeka as a cruising destination also affects the positive growth and increase in tourist numbers.
