The LiveCamCroatia brings you a view from the height on the Adriatic Square in Rijeka. You can watch this beautiful video from Rijeka thanks to a webcam located in a nearby building opposite the famous promenade in Rijeka. Apart from the views of the Adriatic Square, which dominates in front of our camera, in the upper right corner you can see the end of the Korzo promenade. A crowd of the pedestrians best reflects the city's hustle and bustle, while the road on the right side completing the image of a big city on the sea.

Unlike smaller coastal areas, larger cities such as Split, Zadar and Rijeka live throughout the whole year, not just during the summer vacation season. Rijeka is certainly one of the cities you need to visit, no matter in what time of the year you decide to do it.

The third largest city in Croatia is an interesting mix of harbor life, stately Habsburg architecture and relaxed atmosphere. Located in the northern part of the Adriatic Coast, Rijeka also lies on the very mouth of the so-called Rječina. That's why her inhabitants have affectionately dubbed her The City that Flows. Rijeka boasts numerous historical landmarks, but also offers an abundance of interesting cultural and sporting events – it’s been awarded the title of European Capital of Culture of 2020.

History enthusiasts rarely miss the chance to see the Old Town or to visit Trsat. Both are located in Rijeka and have the power to send their visitors back to the Middle Ages. The Old Town boasts its own leaning tower, a noticeably tilted building dating back to 1377. Fun in Rijeka never stops – besides the biggest and the merriest carnival in the whole of Croatia, there’s also Homo si teć, the largest street race. Platak is great for skiing during the winter, while at Preluk you can do windsurfing during the summer.

The biggest port in Croatia is the one located in Rijeka. Considering it has more rainy days than London – Europe's very own rainy capital, it's no wonder most people choose to go to beaches outside the city. Luckily, there are plenty of those, even just a half hour drive away from the center of Rijeka. Besides, Rijeka is the ideal point of departure for those traveling to one of the many sunbathed islands along the northern Adriatic Coast.
