Do you love sport and recreation? This weekend: two marathons, one on land, the other in the sea, on the same weekend at one riviera. For decades, the Crikvenica-Vinodol area has been a favorite destination for many athletes, not only recreational but also professional.
This Saturday, August 31st, will be remembered for a long time and will remain permanently recorded as an important day, as it is precisely Crikvenica and Novi Vinodolski that will have the honor of hosting the first water sports competition in Croatia, which is included in the FINA World Water Sports Federation.
FINA Swimming Ultramarathon Grand Prix Croatia Crikvenica - Novi Vinodolski is extremely attractive for competitors and visitors also, as it is the only FINA marathon swimming competition swim by almost entirely along the coastal promenade, so the entire race from Crikvenica to Novi Vinodolski can be followed from the coast. The total length of the swimming track is 20 km. Registered swimmers represent the very top of the world long distance swim and are the winners of numerous medals from world, European and Olympic competitions and winners of the World Cup.
The official drawing of the starting numbers will be held on Friday, August 30rd at 8 pm and the announcement of the winner will be on Saturday, August 31st after 8 pm at Stjepan Radic Square in Crikvenica.
FINA Swimming Ultramarathon Grand Prix Croatia Crikvenica - Novi Vinodolski will list Croatia and the Adriatic on the list of preferred destinations for the organization of world distance swimming competitions.
After the FINA Swimming Ultramarathon Grand Prix Croatia Crikvenica - Novi Vinodolski on Saturday, the 7th XC Marathon Crikvenica "Husqvarna XCM Croatian Cup 2019" will be held the following day, Sunday September 1st. The start and finish of this international cycling race, which is scoring for the marathon "Croatian Cup 2019", is at Stjepan Radic Square in Crikvenica.
The race is run on three tracks: track A 65 km long, B long 47 km and track C 32 km long.
Program of the 7th XC Marathon Crikvenica "Husqvarna XCM Cup of Croatia 2019":
- 8:30 - 10:00 h - drowing start numbers
- 10: 30 h - race start (A lane)
- 10: 45 h - start of race (B lane)
- 11: 00 h - race start (C lane)
A dynamic sport and recreational weekend is ahead of us. On Saturday we swim, and on Sunday we travel on two wheels with the beautiful green-blue Crikvenica-Vinodol Riviera.
