Aurora Borealis

The aurora borealis is included in the list of seven wonders of the world, and was last recorded over Croatia sky in 2015.

Due to the strong activity of the sun, the aurora borealis appeared over Croatia. This spectacular natural light show is created when charged particles from the sun collide with gases in the Earth's atmosphere, creating vivid hues that paint the night sky, and are predicted to be visible for the next two nights.

The aurora borealis, also known as aurora borealis in the Northern Hemisphere or aurora australis in the Southern Hemisphere, can be seen near the polar regions, where the Earth's magnetospheric belts are located. Locations such as Iceland, Norway, Finland, Alaska or Canada are known for the visibility of the aurora borealis, but the rest of the world, especially Europe, does not often have the opportunity to see such phenomena.

The aurora most often occurs during winter and early spring, although it can occur year-round. In order to experience the aurora borealis, you need to be in a place that is far from light pollution and close to the polar circles. But in extremely strong solar storms and large bursts of solar energy, solar flares can hit the earth so that the aurora is visible even far from the earth's poles.

It is predicted that on the night of May 10 and 11, the aurora borealis will be visible from our region, so do not miss this opportunity to experience a magical space show that who knows when we will have the opportunity to experience it again in these areas.
