The town of Križevci is located in the southwestern part of Koprivnica-Križevci County and is one of the oldest medieval towns of northern Croatia. It is located at the crossroads of traffic routes between Zagreb and the regional centers of Bjelovar, Koprivnica and Varaždin, and according to some data the name of the town comes from that source. In a multitude of cultural monuments, Križevci are proud of the visibility of its eight church towers that are located in the city's approaches, forming the cross of the city. The Protector of the Town of Križevci, Saint Marco Križevčanin, is the third Croatian saint, on which feast of the 7th of September gathers a lots of believers. Križevci are also the cradle of the Križevci statues, written rules of good behavior at the table, which have been mentioned since the 18th century. In addition to the cultural monuments, the gentle hoppy hills invite you to the cliffs and vineyards and rich oak forests hunting or fishing on some artificial lakes.
