Sveta Helena

Sveta Helena is a village only thirty kilometers northeast of Zagreb, in a village near Sveti Ivan Zelina. On a small hill, which separates the village into two parts, there are the remains of the former castle and chapel, which long ago also served as a fortress, as a refuge from the Turks and was surrounded by wooden palisades and a moat.

The International Knights Tournament of St. Helena - a traditional event is held every year in the month of May. A medieval siege of the city, a knight's tournament, a knight's competition in ring shooting, fencing, archery, crossbow shooting and numerous devices, workshops and playrooms, interactive involvement of citizens in various programs are just some of the events offered. The event is attended by groups from abroad as well as numerous groups from all over Croatia.
