In Lapad, just below Vojnović's Dubrovnik traffic jam, two years after the start of construction of the Student Dormitory, with two breaks caused by the pandemic, the newly built complex received a use permit and expects the first students to move in.
This is a large investment in which 85% is funded by the EU and the largest project funded through the operational program "Competitiveness and Cohesion" with co-financing from the City of Dubrovnik, Ministry of Science and Education, Dubrovnik - Neretva County and the University of Dubrovnik.
Campus has a total 503 beds, of which 498 in double rooms and 5 in single rooms adapted for people with disabilities. The 21 m4 rooms waiting for the first students are spacious and comfortable, and the quality of the furniture was not spared. Each room is equipped with a private bathroom, air conditioning with the possibility of adjusting separately for each room, internet and a mini-fridge. The student campus has a multifunctional space for students to work and socialize, as well as a dental and general medicine clinic. In addition to the library, the main restaurant with 627 seats, modern kitchen with storage and refrigerators, fast food restaurant and restaurant for citizens and visitors, there is a fitness center, student club, classrooms, multipurpose hall, kitchenette and underground garage for 179 cars.
Among the 187 students at the University of Dubrovnik and the American College of Management and Technology who will be the first to move into the newly built home, 44 are from international exchange as part of the EU Erasmus project.
In Dubrovnik, everything is ready for the beginning of the academic year 2020/2021.
