Snow Queen Trophy

In the last two decades, the world's best slalom skiers have skied the slopes of Sljeme. The Snow Queen Trophy was synonymous with a fantastically organized ski race. It is not on the calendar this year.
Back in May of last year, a decision was made in which the FIS council did not include the Sljeme Snow Queen Trophy race in the calendar of FIS World Cup races for the upcoming 2023/2024 season at its session in Zurich. It is the first time in the last 20 seasons that Zagreb will not be on the World Cup calendar.
The bad weather conditions of the last two seasons are the reason which contributed to that decision. For a few years now, we have been witnessing incredible and long-lasting warm weather conditions in the New Year period, not only in Zagreb on Sljeme and in Croatia, but also in the whole of Central Europe.

In those years, the name of skiing excellence was associated with the Sljeme race, which was confirmed by the highest viewership in the world of the men's race in 2011 and the women's race in 2020.

With the excellent results, Croatian skiers really deserved the race on their home ground, where they regularly achieved good results. We hope that the next ski season and the organization of the Snow Queen Trophy race will be possible again after a year's break.
