Umag in Istria is a place for summer vacations for Europeans and the city of sports. Here you can cycle, do water sports, golf, and tennis is especially popular. Umag hosts the ATP Tournament, which was won by players such as Thomas Muster, Carlos Moya, Tommy Robred and Dominic Thiem. Northwest Istria has thus received another significant recognition as a center for sports tourism, and Umag has become even more firmly imprinted on the destination map for top tennis spectacles.
The World Tennis Federation (ITF) has recognized Umag as one of the most popular tourist destinations on the Adriatic with a long tennis tradition. In addition to ATP tournaments, veteran tennis tournaments have a long history. ITF recognzed the efforts of the organizers and the quality of the tournament back in 2010 and made the decision to entrust the organization of team and individual Super Senior Tennis World Championships to the Croatian Tennis Federation of Veterans, after visiting the locations in Umag. Extraordinary organization, promotion of world tennis, professional conditions for playing tennis matches, fantastic conditions in the beautiful Istraturist hotels
and also a great positive impact are the main features of this tournament.
For the 39th time, Umag is hosting the Super-Senior World Cup, during which the world's best tennis players and tennis players will gather in 4 age groups (65+ to 85+). The tournament is divided into two parts, from September 12 to 17 with the team part of the competition, and from September 18 to 25 with the fight for victories and titles in individual competition. Tournaments will take place on the beautiful ground terrain of the ATP Stella Maris Stadium.
