Trogir's bridge among the best in the world

Another British recognition has arrived, confirming that Croatian architecture and engineering have something to offer on a global level. It is one of the most prestigious awards in the world of construction, presented as part of the annual NCE Bridges Conference and Awards, dedicated to the most innovative and high-quality bridge projects outside the United Kingdom.

This time the award went to Trogir. The Trogir pedestrian bridge, which was opened last year, won the International Bridge Project of the Year award.

The Trogir Bridge over the Foša which opened at the end of last year, received great recognition - it was named the international project of the year at the prestigious NCE Bridges Awards 2025 in London.

The prestigious British professional magazine New Civil Engineer gathers the best experts from the world of bridge construction every year at its conference and awards ceremony. The competition included bridges from China, France, Germany, Poland, Luxembourg and Rwanda, and the Trogir bridge stood out for its uniqueness, sustainability and connection with the local community.

The bridge is the work of the architectural and urban design studio Prostorne taktike and connects the old city center with the coast, crossing the narrow sea channel of Foša. It was built as a replacement for a dilapidated wooden bridge, and its elegant shape and modern design today make it a new symbol of the city, connecting the old city center of Trogir with the coast. It was manufactured in the shipyard in Vranjic and was installed in its place in just one day. It was made using local shipbuilding techniques, which preserved tradition, while it was designed to last, be sustainable and cost-effective, but also to serve as a public space where people can linger and meet.

With this recognition, Trogir has once again confirmed that it knows how to preserve its heritage but also bravely build the future.

For the city of Trogir, the bridge represents a contemporary symbol of the city - a bridge that connects history and future, technology and tradition, the local community and the world.
