After CNN included Advent Zagreb in the list of the best Christmas markets in 2022, according to a survey conducted by the British Mirror, Zagreb took second place as the city with the best value for money to visit this December. The other most popular British media, such as the Daily Mail, Telegraph, and Independent, reported on Advent in Zagreb. CNN's list includes 15 X-mass fairs - in Vienna, Basel, Strasbourg, Brussels, Prague, Barcelona, Florence, Copenhagen, Tallinn, Stockholm, Helsinki, Budapest, Berlin and London. And two more, in Toronto and New York.
In recent years, Zagreb Advent has established itself among the best in Europe, and has additionally positioned itself on the European map of Christmas markets. The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), which includes 160 member states and more than 500 associate members representing the private sector, educational institutions, tourism associations and local tourism authorities, also shared the news.
It is already noticed on the booking.com platform that capacity occupancy in Zagreb for the first weekend of Advent is higher than 82%.
The grand opening of Advent Zagreb is scheduled for Saturday, November 26, when the first Advent candle will be lit on Ban Jelačić Square at 5 p.m., followed by the opening of the upper city locations at 6 p.m., the Ice Park on King Tomislav Square opening at 7 p.m., while to turn on the lights on Zrinjevac at 8 p.m. A rich cultural and musical program awaits you at many locations in the city.
