Ika, located in Kvarner between Opatija and Lovran, is a charming fishing village known for its peaceful atmosphere, preserved coastal architecture and proximity to Mount Učka.

Here you will find magnificent examples of Art Nouveau architecture, modernly decorated villas and the cottages of the former Austro-Hungarian elite.

Although a town with only a few hundred inhabitants, Ika is proud of its fishing and shipbuilding tradition, which it has incorporated into its tourist offer. A special event is the Fisherman's Evening in Ika, when visitors can truly experience the way of life of a typical coastal town, as during the day-long event they have the opportunity to help fishermen weave nets and set traps, watch the boats set out to fish, and later taste the fresh catch prepared by local chefs.

Except the rich gastronomic offer of fish specialties, it is characterized by excellent connections with hiking trails, offering a combination of sea and mountains. Ika is an excellent base for hiking enthusiasts with quick access to Učka, from where there is a spectacular view of the entire Kvarner, Rijeka and the islands.
The famous coastal promenade Lungomare, which runs through the town and connects Ika with nearby Lovran and Opatija, is ideal for leisurely walks by the sea.
Today, Ika is also the academic center of the entire Riviera because it is home to the internationally recognized Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management, where hundreds of students from all parts of Croatia and abroad receive their education.
