Since 2020, when the first Marco Polo Challenge Triathlon was organized, it is organized every year in April, this year from the 21st to the 23rd. April.
The competition weekend starts on April 22 with a sprint triathlon (750 m swim, 20 km bike and 5 km run), and the highlight of the event is the medium-long triathlon (April 23), which includes a 1.9 km swim, 90 km bike and 21.1 km running, which is also the Croatian Championship in medium-long triathlon and a humanitarian race through the streets of the town of Korčula approx. 2.5 km with a treasure hunt (April 22).
The competition covers the entire island of Korčula, which offers ideal conditions for active tourism and engaging in outdoor sports activities.
Due to the length of the sections, the long triathlon includes all the municipalities of the island of Korčula and takes place on the territory of the entire island. Thus, the swimming part will be organized in the very center of the city of Korčula, where there will also be a transition zone. Biking will take place from Korčula to Vela luka, and in such a way that it will ride in one direction through Pupnatska luka, Čara, Smokvica and Blato to Vela luka. The return will be over the highest parts of the island, on another road. The run will be organized along the section from Korčula to Račišće, with the finish line in front of the entrance to the Old Town of Korčula. Also, fans of shorter distances will be able to enjoy the sprint triathlon and relay competitions in both disciplines.

This unique sports event is jointly organized by the Imotski Triathlon Club, the City of Korčula and the Tourist Board of the City of Korčula in cooperation with other island tourist boards and local self-government units.
