The Boris Hanžeković memorial is the oldest sports event in Croatia. It has been held since 1951 in honor of the tragically deceased athlete Boris Hanžeković. From 2020, the meeting is part of the Continental Tour Gold category.

The 73rd international athletics meeting will be held at three locations in Zagreb. Thus, female and male long jumpers will perform on Friday, September 8 at Trg bana Jelačića. Shot putters will traditionally compete on Saturday, September 9, at the training ground next to the Zagreb fountains. And all other athletic disciplines will be held on Sunday, September 10 from 5 p.m. at the Mladost Stadium by the Sava River.

A three-day athletic spectacle from the WA Continental Tour Gold series that will once again bring numerous Olympic and world champions and world record holders to Zagreb. The 2nd Zagreb City Challenge was presented on Trg bana Jelačić, a jumper competition that has been held in the central square of Zagreb since last year. On Friday, September 8, from 6 p.m. in the center of Zagreb, female and long jumpers will compete. 20 tons of sand is in place and waiting for jumpers and jumpers in training. We expect long jumps, great support from the audience. Entry is free for everyone. Here, from just a few meters, you will be able to see what it's like to jump eight or seven meters.

The very strong starting list of distance athletes is led by the European indoor champion Jazmin Sawyers and the winner of this year's European Games Milica Gardašević. Even the best Croatian athletes are eagerly awaiting their performance at the oldest sports event in Croatia. Our best 800-meter runner Marino Bloudek, our best discus thrower Martin Marković, two-time Olympic and world champion in discus throwing Sandra Perković. The airstrip and some technical things are quite different than at the stadium. The biggest difference is, of course, in the surface, where you can see the difference in the quality of the take-off and jump. But the home crowd provides a particularly good atmosphere, which means a lot to the jumpers who give their all.

Through our live stream camera, experience the unique atmosphere from Zagreb's main square.
