From October 17th to 19th, the Zadar archipelago will once again become a favorite destination for trail runners from all over the world. This year's edition of the Archipelago Trail Run will bring together competitors from as many as 22 countries. The race connects three magnificent Dalmatian islands - Ugljan, Pašman and Dugi otok.

The race is part of the Europe Trail Cup, and participants come from Croatia and abroad. The largest number of entries comes from Slovenia, followed by Hungary, Italy, Poland and the Czech Republic. Among the furthest away are runners from Canada, the USA, Ireland, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.

The program begins on Friday, October 17th with a novelty of this edition: the Sunset Vertical Race – a 4.5 km long climb from the port of Preko on Ugljan to the fortress of St. Michael on Ugljan with an unforgettable view of Zadar and the surrounding islands. Saturday is reserved for Dugi otok, and Sunday for Ugljan and Pašman. Participants can choose between three levels of trails (10, 20/25 and 35/45 km) and can choose one, two or even all three islands. Such a format, which combines sport and exploration of three islands, is a real rarity in the region, so the Archipelago Trail Run occupies a special place on the trail scene.

Beside the running part, a welcome program with music, local products, shared meals and prizes is organized. The center of the event will be in the town of Preko on the island of Ugljan, and many participants will take the opportunity to extend their stay and visit the Telašćica Nature Park, rocky coves and olive groves, while the trails lead through some of the most beautiful landscapes of the Zadar archipelago, including the Telašćica Nature Park and views of the Kornati National Park.

Archipelago Trail Run confirms that the islands of Zadar offer a meaningful, active and attractive stay for local and foreign guests even in the post-season. This event offers something special: a combination of sports, nature, exploring the various islands of the Zadar archipelago and rich cultural heritage.
