Istria 100 by UTMB

Istria100 by UTMB is an sports event that attracts runners from all over the world with its impressive courses, offering them the opportunity to explore untouched nature, stunning panoramas and the rich cultural heritage of the Istrian region. Runners will face the challenges of different lengths of trails, suitable for experienced runners, but also for those who want to try trail running for the first time.

There are 5 races of 168km, 110km, 69km, 42km and 21km. Each race starts from a different Istrian historical gem. It is run through the medieval Istrian towns on the hills, valleys and valleys of Istria, and then the runners will pass through the finish line on the western part of the peninsula, in Umag.

Ultratrail race "Istria 100 by UTMB", 11th edition, takes place on 4-7 April 2024 in Istria in the area from Labin (168 km), Buzet (110 km and 69 km), Motovun (42 km) and Grožnjan (21 km) all the way to Umag. This is why it is considered one of the biggest and most difficult races of its kind in Croatia. This year's edition brings together a record 2,700 runners from 69 countries.

It is the only event of its kind in Croatia and the wider region where sport and tourism are intertwined. The large number of participants will also have a significant impact on tourist traffic this year, and the event itself will delight our athletes and sports fans in general, as well as visitors from Croatia and abroad.

The races pass through the hiking trails of Istria over the peaks of Učka and Ćićarija, through the medieval towns of the interior of Istria (Green Istria) and end on the western part of the peninsula in Umag (Blue Istria). The trails combine all aspects of Istria: difficult and technical terrain, a few coastal areas, old medieval towns, deep forests, city cores, muddy rocks, streams, canyons and many beautiful panorama.

On the main square in Umag, through our webcam, you can watch  live stream the entry of all participants to the finish line, as well as the ceremonial distribution of awards to the best on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at 1:00 p.m.

The Istria100 by UTMB race, which started in 2013, is part of the UTMB World Series, an elite series of 36 world races, which brings together the biggest sports stars and passionate runners and leads them through the best, leading international events in the most beautiful locations.
