Cheese curd is one of the most valued traditional products on the island of Pag, which has fed many generations. That is why every May Kolan organizes Skutafest, a cheese curd festival in honor of this product. Cheese curd is an exquisite and healthy delicacy that comes from the production of Pag cheese, which means that it is in season for a short time, in limited quantities. In addition to cottage cheese, another healthy by-product is whey, rich in vitamins and proteins, which is used for numerous health problems. You can enjoy cottage cheese as a spread, with sage honey, in cakes, pancakes or even in coffee (instead of cream). It is sure to please even the pickiest one.
It carries the HOP (Croatian Island Product) label - an award that confirms the authenticity, quality and importance of island production. That is why events like this are not just a festival - but support for local producers and the preservation of tradition.

The focus is on cheese curd – a by-product of the production of the famous Pag cheese, which can be tasted at SkutaFest in various combinations and in numerous sweet and savory variants: in cakes, spreads, pancakes. Various versions of cottage cheese dishes are prepared by local restaurants and the Bartul Kašić High School (cooking department). From classics to creative interpretations. In addition to the gastronomic offer, the fair also offers creative handicrafts such as jewelry, dishes and decorations. All this with a DJ in the background and a cocktail in hand.
If you want to taste Pag cheese curd and all the fine delicacies in which it is used, both sweet and savory, visit Kolan and join Skutafest on May 9th at King Tomislav Square from 6 p.m.
