After much delay in construction due to unexpected archaeological research in the area where one pavilion will be located, the construction of 2 new student pavilions at the Juraj Dobrila University campus in Pula has finally started again.
Juraj Dobrila University received 100% of funding. It is an investment of HRK 58.4 million, of which 85% is financed by EU funds and the rest is provided by the state from its funds.
Pula received a University campus in 2015 when the first rooms with 144 beds were renovated and will receive an additional 248 new beds. This is all happening in the area where there used to be a hospital that had its wards in various old buildings. As it moved into new location, it left the old buildings to the expanding University - both with the number of students and new universities.
Two new pavilions will be built in the area of the former boiler room and laundry room, with the boiler room being demolished and a brand new building with 97 double rooms and an additional restaurant being built in its place, while the old laundry room will be adapted to the requirements of the conservator and given an additional floor. There will be 27 luxury and spacious rooms.
In the future, the construction of these two pavilions, a square and a student-friendly park should completely complete the investment in student accommodation in Pula, which in the summer becomes a hostel through which students from more than 40 countries passed. In the new pavilions, students, as well as in the current campus, will have in their spacious, air-conditioned rooms with private bathrooms a fridge, a television and free internet. There is also an IT classroom, a fitness center, a multimedia classroom, a party room, a laundry service, and a garage for bicycles, mopeds, electric cars and mopeds with chargers. The new campus will satisfy all modern comfort.
