The center of all events on the Opatija Riviera this summer is Opatija's Summer Stage. "Summer on Summer stage" is traditionally held in the organization of the Opatija Festival. Numerous concerts of all genres, festivals and films. The wonderful sea scenes with numerous thematic events under the starry sky will surely leave you indifferent.
The event, which has become an indispensable part of Kvarner culture during its 16 years of existence, is certainly the Liburnia Film Festival, which takes place from August 20th to 24th on the summer stage in Opatija. Public will be presented 18 domestic titles - from which 5 will have their world premiere at this festival.
For everybody who doesn't know, it is the first festival of documentary film in Croatia and the only festival that broadcast just Croatian documentaries. The main goal of the Liburnia Film Festival is to promote Croatian media, film and video arts and culture.
The awards by the festival are awards for the best regional movie, the best movie at festival, the best direction, installation, sound design, photo and audience awards.
Every year, the festival also offers an educational program with workshops where in a pleasant company, you will gain basic skills and knowledge about making short documentaries and have the opportunity to work with professional camera and sound recorder and learn how to edit all the parts.
