The race around the Krk

A top sailing spectacle at sea and an international navigational offshore regatta. The  jubilee 10th edition of this attractive two-day offshore regatta will be held from 19th to 20th September. The Race Around Krk has gained popularity in the sailing community, recognized as one of the most attractive sporting events in Kvarner and contributing to the promotion of tourism in this region.

This race provides a unique opportunity for sailing enthusiasts to try their hand at a challenging and attractive route, combining the challenge of night sailing, the beauty of the Kvarner archipelago and the sporting passion of sailors.

The regatta will depart from the Novi vinodolski harbor on Friday, September 19, and participants will sail their sailboats through the demanding conditions of the Kvarner waters along a 55 nautical mile route around the island of Krk. The route direction will be determined immediately before the start, according to weather conditions. The finish line is in Selce on Saturday, September 20, where all participants will gather and celebrate the successful completion of the regatta.

The regatta also has a competitive significance – it counts points for the Croatian Coast Cup, it is the 15th in a row in that Cup, and it is also the second regatta of the Offshore North Adriatic Challenge, a special ranking that includes the three longest offshore regattas of this cup.
