Šibenik Dance Festival

The Šibenik Dance Festival from July 13 to 18 will turn the city into a real dance metropolis! It's time for the 15th edition of the festival, which will once again be held at the Fortress of St. Mihovila and other attractive locations to host numerous dancers, choreographers and dance groups with unforgettable contemporary dance performances.

Šibenik Dance Festival brings the beauty of dance art to the widest audience, without compromising on the quality of the performance. It is an original combination of intangible and tangible cultural heritage, quality program content and the fortress as a stage. In recent years, the Šibenik Dance Festival has grown into one of the most recognizable dance events in this part of Europe. It has gained its reputation for its carefully selected international program, but also for its unique combination of contemporary dance art with the historical backdrops of Šibenik and its restored medieval fortresses.

The theme of this year's festival is “When words lose their power, art speaks louder!".

Šibenik Dance Festival 2026 brings together more than 300 artists from 12 countries who will perform 18 performances during the six festival days at eight attractive locations: at the Barone and St. Michael fortresses, in front of Azimut, at the Arsen House of Arts, on the Republic Square in front of the Cathedral of St. James and on Poljana, and this year's big news is the expansion of the program outside of Šibenik itself to two new locations in Vodice.

Since its beginnings in 2011, the festival has presented the works of renowned world choreographers, including Andonis Foniadakis, Xie Xin, Rami Be'er and hosted many other prominent artists.
