Zagreb becomes a movie backdrop

At the end of the month, the shooting of the most expensive Hollywood film this year in Croatia begins in Zagreb, the spy thriller "Canary Black" by French director Pierre Morel, known for the action thrillers "96 Hours" with Liam Neeson, and the famous Kate Beckinsale plays the main role.

Part of the film will also be shot in Istria.

Filming in Zagreb will last about 50 days in several locations, one of which is Maksimir Stadium. Known to the people of Zagreb as a place of sports, but also of politics, the stadium, which longs for renovation, becomes a fantastic backdrop for filming a pawn thriller. It will be filmed under the north stand of the stadium, part of the basement, ground floor, second and fifth floors, with a total area of more than 2,000 square meters. It was chosen as one of the main locations precisely because of its incompleteness and size.

In addition to the Maksimir Stadium, filming will also take place on Zagreb's main Ban Jelačić Square.

44 Croatian actors and many extras are playing in the film.

This is an opportunity for Zagreb to show that it has everything to make a good film.
