The two-day gastronomic manifestation of the 19th in order of exhibition, sales and competition character is the largest of its kind in the area of Otočac and already traditionally in the city park in Otočac gathers a large number of visitors and is the largest event of this region.
50 producers from Otočac, Gospić, Brinje, Udbina, Pounj, Našice, Zagreb, Sisak, Novska, Koprivnica, Ogulin, Nuštar, Donja Zdenčina, Petrinja, Valpovo present their products, and 41 teams participate in cooking the kettle. In addition to local teams from Otočac, teams from Vis, from Imotski, Sisak and Gospić, as well as representatives of the Lika-Senj County in two teams led by the county's county prefect and deputy prefect, will participate in the kettle cooking.
Eco Ethno Gacka received a special recognition for the traditional events of the Croatian Association for Tourism and Rural Development "Village Members' Club" in the category of rural tourist events and the award "Simply the best" of the Association of Croatian Travel Agencies and Way to Croatia magazine for the quality of the event, and at the end of 2022
In 2008, the Tourist Board of the City of Otočac received a large gold medal for the high quality of the organization of the gastronomic event at the 53rd Novi Sad Tourism Fair, by nominating the Eco Ethno Gacka event.
In addition to the exhibition and sale of local products from all over Croatia, there are numerous workshops for children and adults, as well as riding the Komiška gundula around Gacka. The first day of the event will be marked by finger food tastings of trout and cheese specialties, sardine brudet and grilled sardines, and local wine from Slatina.
The central gastronomic event of the second day is the preparation and tasting of hunting stews, i.e. kettles, which will be evaluated by an expert jury. In addition to gastronomic delicacies, visitors will also enjoy a rich accompanying musical program, while the highlight of the evening is the concert by Maja Šuput.
The Eco Ethno Gacka event is organized by the Tourist Board of the City of Otočac under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports and with the financial support of Lika-Senj County, the Croatian Tourist Board, the Tourist Board of Lika-Senj County and the City of Otočac.
