Croatian Walking Festival

Walking is one of the key activities in maintaining good health. With every minute you spend walking, you can extend your life by 1.5 - 2 minutes.

After two extremely successful years, and last year's break, the organizers are ready for the largest attendance so far. The aim of this festival is to emphasize the role of walking as the basic and most accessible form of human movement. The Croatian Walking Festival wants to attract a few thousand visitors to Lika.

Croatian Walking Festival, organised by Croatian Walking Association, Lika-Senj County Tourist Board and Lika Travel d.o.o. is held on the 1^st weekend of September in Gospić and Otočac on three routes in each city.

The town of Otočac is one of the locations where the 3rd Walking Festival will be held. It is about the beautiful river Gacka, the cleanest European river - the location Šatrići, which is one of the routes of this year's Croatian Walking Festival where hundreds of registered walkers from Croatia and Europe will walk on September 4th and 5th during the day. The routes are of different intensity and length and combine the natural and cultural beauties of Lika.

This year's festival starts in Otočac, where trails named Gacka have been traced, after which it moves to Gospić on the Tesla trails. 4.9. it is reserved for Otočac where all registered walkers will master three trails 10+, 20+ and 30+ kilometers long. All age groups can participate, and fitness is not important either.

This sporting event is unique in Croatia, and the ultimate goal is, like similar events in the world that have been held for many years, to gather tens of thousands of walkers.

The impeccable organisation has prepared everything for you. All you need to do is bring your good spirit, warmed-up feet and shoes that fit perfectly, and come spend two days in good company, with physical activity and the world’s most beautiful scenery, which can only be found in ours and yours – Lika!
