The day of Samobor celebrates the day when King Bela IV. on 1242. donated to Samobor the Charter of the Free Royal Market, and is officially celebrated on the third Saturday in October.
Samobor City Day and the great 781st anniversary will be celebrated this year with a rich and varied program that will begin on Friday, October 13 and last until October 29.
This year's celebration brings a rich and varied program, especially during the weekend of October 21 and 22. Saturday's celebratory program, October 21, will begin at 8 a.m. with a vigil by the Samobor City Band. After that, at 9:00 a.m. in the Park of Homeland Appreciation, wreath-laying and candle-lighting will be held to honor the brave veterans who sacrificed their lives for a free and independent Croatia. Along with the festive event, the Samobor National Guard, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, will host more than 20 historical units from different parts of Croatia, which will pass through the streets of Samobor in a parade.
Samobor is also known as a gastronomic destination, so You will enjoy in famous Samobor autochthonous products; Rudarska greblica and Samoborski bermet also in the wines of Samobor.
And in the evening on 15th October, as a real birthday party, at the main Samobor square at 9pm Petar Grašo will magnify birthday celebration by his concert. After the concert visitors will enjoy the traditional fireworks.
