Krk's Carnival

The fifth annual season - crazy carnival period, the Krk Carnival event with a long tradition begins on the first Sunday after the holiday of Sv. The Three Kings, raising the carnival flag and running until the beginning of the Lenten - Clean Wednesday (Pepelnica). Krk Carnival is a traditional event that lasts for over 200 years and introduces you to an event that takes its roots from the time when the masking was linked to the bullfight.

By tradition, on Sunday, January the 13th, at 11am at the Vela Placa in Krk, by raising the carnival flag, as well as handing over the city keys to the hands of good mood mascots the Krk Carnival begins. The new edition of the Krk Carnival in the town of Krk brings enjoyment in the party and dance, great fun for children and adults, children's procession and cheerful masks. This year's event features three carnival parties on Saturdays (January 19th and February 2nd and 16th) and as many children's processions on Sundays (January 20th and February 3rd and February 17th). The multi-week fun traditionally ends with the closing of a carnival with a great party, a carnival flag landing, the return of city keys and the burning of Mesopust (doll) on March the 5th on the Krk waterfront, all with a good masked party, donuts, cakes and other Krk’s delicacies.
