August events in Krk

For 63 years, the town of Krk, proudly presenting itself as a city of history and culture. Until August 25 it is the host of Summer Events, one of the festivals with the longest tradition on the eastern Adriatic coast, which has been promoted into recognizable cultural and tourist sites with quality cultural content and authentic locations. the product of Krk and the unity of music, drama and exhibition content.

From August 8^th – 10^th there is 495th Fair of tradition, culture, gastronomy and entertainment. Krk Fair offers a lot, such as rich offer of original Krk and Croatian products such as Krk cheese, prosciutto, handmade pasta šurlice, Žlahtina wine, liqueurs and many other delicacies, wide range of handicrafts and original souvenirs, all handmade and sold directly from the producers. All that will be accompanied with varied entertainment program: the Medieval Fair which will take you back in time of Krk dukes – Frankopans, the competition in prosciutto hand slicing for media and caterers, one of a kind in Croatia and many other surprises which turn the town of Krk into a big stage with entertaining programs for every taste and age. So you simply do not miss Krk Fair!

In Vela placa square you will be able to enjoy the performances of the Krk Brass Orchestra and folklore groups from Kornić, Vrh and Poljice. Numerous performers will put you in a good mood on the Krk waterfront, whilst the night of St. Lawrence will surely not pass without music fireworks at midnight.

From 13th to 15th August there is educational, entertaining and sport event and traditional regatta of old boats Krk Sails Event. has been organized in the town of Krk since 1998. It is a regatta of traditional vessels, one of the oldest regattas of its kind on Adriatic coast, whose aim is to preserve and present the rich maritime heritage of the island of Krk and wider.

This traditional event is refreshed and introduced by a new program called Boats Night Dance which presents promenade flagship sailing under the reflector lights with occasional musical program performed on one of the boats which, accompanied by carefully selected pieces of classical music and occasional recital about the sea, contributes to the uniqueness of the atmosphere. The program is additionally ennobled by occasional fireworks.

Sailing regatta almost traditionally takes place on the Assumption Day on August 15th, starting at noon, on the twelfth beat of bells from Krk bell-tower. After the sports part the visitors will be able to enjoy the entertainment program with live music, but also the educational program, photo exhibition and maritime skills and rowing workshops.

The end of summer from August 30 - September 1 is booked for the 13th Days of Figs. Fun and gastronomic event dedicated to figs, with which the town of Krk celebrating the start of Autumn. Krk's caterers prepare a variety of figs in their facilities. At Vela placa square, the associations will prepare interesting workshops, while OPGs will prepare a sales exhibition of their fig products.
