21. Krk's Sails

The regatta of traditional sailboats of Krk sails has been organized in the town of Krk since 1998. and is one of the oldest of its kind on our coast. It is a regatta of traditional old boats whose aim is to preserve and present the rich maritime heritage of the island of Krk and beyond.

In addition to the regatta, the organizers have also prepared many other interesting things: educational contents - demonstrations of maritime related crafts and skills, workshops and lectures, outdoor (maritime motifs) photo exhibition , lectures and workshops on navy skills, various concerts. During the event there is also a gastronomic program based on seafood at Krk’s seafront. And in the evening, at the foot of the old town walls, there will be a promenade night-time sailing, an attractive night sails dance with the light and sound effects and a great fireworks at the end.

On the Assumption Day, after the last twelve-hour ticking from the cathedral bell tower, from Krk’s harbour will sail on the 21st Krk’s sailing with wooden boats of crucified sails.
