14 winning Croatian cities declared! That it is comfortable and safe to live in Croatia is proved by the fact that 14 Croatian best cities have been selected this year by the choice of Jutarnji List, portal Gradončelnik.hr and the Ipsos agency.

That it is comfortable and safe to live in Croatia is proved by the fact that 14 Croatian best cities have been selected this year by the choice of Jutarnji List, portal Gradončelnik.hr and the Ipsos agency. Grading the cities for quality of life was carried out by an expert jury according to 9 criteria in different categories and by category depending on the size of the city (big, medium and small).

The winning titles in the category of cities with the best quality of life are carried by Zagreb as a big city, Poreč as a middle city and Krk as a small town. Zagreb is N01 among the big cities by average per capita income and by the number of highly educated and among the top 3 big cities by criteria of original budget revenues, gross wages of employees, share of tax revenues in the budget and share of city transport subsidies in the city budget.

In the category of education, demography, youth and social policy, Pazin (big cities), Labin (middle) and Cres were named best in the competition of small cities. Pazin is also among the three major cities with the best indicator of the ratio of kindergarteners and children in kindergarten.

Awards to the best cities in withdrawing money from EU funds went to Zadar (big), Križevci (medium) and Ludbreg in small-town competition.

Koprivnica won the ECO City title for Best Solutions in Waste Management and Environmental Protection, and Dubrovnik won the Smart City Award for Best Practices and Solutions in the Application of Smart Technologies.

Pula is this year's winner of the selection of the largest cities for the economy, and Krk in the category of small cities.

Krk is the only city with two titles of the best in this year's selection, so it can be declared the overall winner of this year's selection of the best cities.
