The town of Tršće is the youngest town in the Čabar area. It is located on a plateau, which stretches at a height of 824 meters above sea level. The mine is at the foot of the mountain where the town of Tršće is located, and is located at 1,052 meters above sea level.
There is the Rudnik toboggan run with a conveyor belt for all sledding and skiing enthusiasts, a ski school for beginners, and an ice rink.
How it all began
Back in 1952, a teacher in Tršće at the time initiated the idea of founding the Rudnik Tršće Ski Club. The club gathered young athletes who over the years have achieved numerous competitive successes with the support of locals, entrepreneurs and the local government. The club worked to popularize skiing and build ski infrastructure. They paid special attention to the youngest ages and to the ski school for children. In 1987, the club was the technical organizer of the Yugoslav championship in giant slalom for girls and downhill for girls and boys. Ski club Rudnik had its own ski range with a ski lift, lighting for night skiing and a system for artificial snow next to Brvnara Tršće.
Unfortunately, over the years, the club encountered numerous difficulties and eventually all activities died down.
But from the 2022, the popular Brvnara is back in operation thanks to the cooperation of the City of Čabar and the subsidiary branch of Hrvatske šume, which owns the building. Various activities are held there: from sledding, cross-country skiing to various workshops, Advent, performances and New Year's Eve. The space still exudes holiday decorations, and there are more and more visitors who enjoy snow activities. The sledding track is arranged. The interior space has a sanitary facility and a seating area, and in front of the Log Cabin there is a kiosk offering drinks.
The main goal is to start activities related to culture, tourism and entertainment in this area and thereby contribute to the life of this environment. Thus, during December and during Advent, the log cabin is transformed into Santa's House.
Santa's house has become a symbol of holiday beauty and magic, a symbol of hope, recovery and togetherness. Various events, workshops and performances created a magical atmosphere and allowed everyone to feel the spirit of Christmas. Decorated with numerous Christmas and holiday decorations, it created the impression of scenes from numerous Christmas movies. Advent events are organized on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays with activities for all generations. Older generations enjoyed mulled wine, music and socializing by the warm fireplace. The children's corner with toys and Christmas cartoons and various other entertainment attracted many children. Santa Claus, who distributed valuable Christmas gifts, brought smiles to children's faces.
This year, Advent in Trsce won a silver medal as the second most beautiful Advent in Croatia in the category of small towns, and at the same time the most beautiful in the entire Primorje-Gorski Kotar County. Last year, the Advent of the City of Čabar was recognized as one of the 10 most beautiful Advent events in small towns in Croatia.
This recognition by the mayor_hr under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism places Čabar on the list of the most beautiful Advent destinations in Croatia.
