The traditional costumed cultural-tourist event "Days of Diocletian", which is held every year on the city streets, squares and shores of the city of Split, is on the top of exciting summer season of Split.
In that period the time of the 17th century was revived when the Roman emperor, Diocletian, gave his palace to Split. Days of Diocletian became a recognizable manifestation and one of the leading motifs for the arrival of tourists in Split. To give all foreign and domestic visitors an antique experience throughout the summer, this year the Days of Diocletian will last until 21st September.
Everyone enjoys this attractive event, which a city that boasts a unique combination of antique and modern, additionally reveals the irresistible charm of old times. Roman legions are being repaired, the Diocletian, together with the Roman legions and the chariots pass through the seafront and Peristyle, where Diocletian's congregation, together with the family, greetings gathered. The city is home to the sounds of fanfare, drummer and roman music. By the center, on the squares and the streets, along with the fun of street entertainers, you can enjoy the rich gastronomic offer from the era of Emperor Diocletian, also in the concert and dance program. Everyone who finds himself in Split at that time is on glorious history journey as he had jumped into the time machine! And this year too, Diocletian and his ensemble will embody famous theater faces. There will be an organized presentation of old crafts with occasional stands and product presentations, where you will be able to buy tunics, dresses and make a Roman hairstyle as well.
