Wine Days at Plešivica

October is a month that is traditionally dedicated to wine in Jastrebarsko and the presentation of everything that winemakers and their families diligently prepare throughout the year.

Not far from Jaska, stretches Plešivica. Although the smallest wine region in Croatia, the southern slopes of Plešivica are one of our most famous and most successful vineyards with a tradition of growing vines. Winemaking here has a long tradition, and the wine-growing landscape, sunny slopes and quality varieties of wine that are nurtured, as well as the knowledge and experience of winegrowers and winemakers, guarantee a truly noble drop. Famous and esteemed wines come out of the cellars of Plešivica: Graševina, Rhine Riesling, Traminer, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay and others, and young Portuguese wine is being nurtured more and more. That is why it is not surprising that Plešivica is known for its wine festivals, rural and weekend tourism. Plešivica is also a region with some of the best sparkling wines in Croatia, known as the Croatian Champagne region. Here, members of the world jet set from the beginning of the 20th century, Charlie Chaplin and Isadora Duncan, drank their glass of Portuguese.

This picturesque area is mostly visited the wine road, but you will be delighted if you start your autumn morning with a beautiful walk through the park of Erdody Castle and enjoy the perfect colors of this fairytale castle. The influence of the noble Erdödy family who ruled here for over 400 years has left a big mark on this small, picturesque place. Next to the castle is the old city park, which has been declared a horticultural monument.

Traditional events Wine Days last from 8 to 10 October in the cellars, wineries and courtyards of Jaska winemakers and through an interesting program will provide visitors with the experience of enjoying wine and food in the warmth of farms and wineries, of course adhering to all prescribed epidemiological measures.

All wine lovers are invited to spend the weekend on the picturesque slopes of the Plešivica mountains, and choose between nine vinery locations.
