The 24th edition of the Split half-marathon on the AIMS certified track, which has been modified and has fewer climbs. The start and finish are on the Split Riva, right next to Emperor Diocletian's Palace (which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List), and there are 6 refreshment stations on the course and measurement of passing time at 6 places with live tracking of the passage of each runner. At the finish line, every participant who finishes the race will receive a participation medal, which will be even better than last year's.
The origins of the "Split Half Marathon" date back to 2001, when it was held for the first time. In the first years, it was held exclusively in the area of the Marjan Forest Park, and since 2007 it has been held with the start and finish on the Riva as part of the celebration of St. Dujma. In 2015, the course was changed, keeping the start and finish on the Riva, but it is circular and goes around a large part of the city and all its significant symbols.
In 2016, the schedule of the Split Half Marathon was changed to the last weekend in February, which resulted in a significant and continuous increase in the number of participants. Along with the growth in the number of participants, the number of accompanying events such as a sports fair and races for children is also increasing.
In 2020, a full marathon with a relay marathon took place in addition to the already traditional half marathon, Slobodna Dalmacija Trophy (5 km race) and dm children's mile. The start and finish of all races is on the Split Riva. Through our webcam, you can watch live stream of the start and finish of the race and the atmosphere itself. All paths lead through the most beautiful parts of the city. The 24th Split Marathon consists of several races: marathon, relay marathon, half marathon, Mazda (10 km), Slobodna Dalmacija Trophy (5 km) and 4 children's races for children up to 15 years of age.
