First World Rowing Cup in Croatia

For the first time in history, the city of Zagreb will host the World Rowing Cup on Jarun, which will be held from April 30 to May 2 in three regattas on the renovated Jarun rowing track. The World Cup is the biggest rowing competition since the World Championships.

The best rowers of the world will come to Lake Jarun, into the yard of Sinković brothers, who have been training and honing their form right here throughout their careers. It was in their hometown of Zagreb back in 2008. that they achieved their first impressive victory at the Croatia Open as juniors.

The City of Zagreb, as a friend of sports, is proud of all 46,000 registered athletes, there are more than 700 sports clubs and more than 400 coaches in Zagreb, and sports events take place at about 340 locations. Zagreb is the only rowing track in Croatia where such big competitions can be held.

The investment of 30 million kuna for arranging the track is not only for this competition, but also for the generations to come and who, perhaps thanks to this event, will love this sport and try rowing. New Jarun is a competitive Jarun, for the first time the world's strongest rowing crews are coming to Zagreb. A total of 27 countries are coming with their crews, and Switzerland and Croatia will have the most. The world's most famous crews will gather at Zagreb's Jarun, led by Olympic, world and European winners, brothers Martin and Valent Sinković in a duo without coxswain and Damir Martin in singles. Sisters Ivana and Josipa Jurković will also compete for Croatia in the doubles without a coxswain, David Šain and Goran Mahmutović in the doubles doubles, and Ivan Piton, Marko Ukropina, Anton and Patrik Lončarić in the quadruple without a coxswain.
