Brač Trail

An increasingly popular sport - running along natural, unpaved paths, better known as trail, is slowly expanding the club of devotees all over our coast. The island of Brač, which last year had its 1st edition of the Brač Trail race.

The Brač trail reveals the most beautiful and wild corners of this impressive island. The race, which takes place on May 9, runs along the Vidova Gora plateau, which rises to 778m/m, which makes it the highest mountain of the Adriatic islands and one of the most beautiful viewpoints on the Adriatic. It has a shape of an elongated karst ridge stretching along the southern coast of Brač. The sides of this ridge are entirely different. The southern face descends steeply, with cliffs sloping into the sea towards the town of Bol. The northern face is a karst highland mild slope of some ten kilometres of width. This highland is for the most part covered with scarce shrubland and Mediterranean macchia and the area of Kneževravni under Vidova Gora is populated with black pinewood. This vast highland covers more than half of the island, it is entirely deserted and uninhabited.

The race takes place in 3 categories: 7 km (Light), 14 km (Active) or 24 km (Challenger) on beautiful forested paths on Vidova Gora above 600 m above sea level. Dense pine forests and ridges of Vidova Gora and a beautiful panoramic view of dozens of islands are the main features of this trail. The start and finish of the race are on Zlatni rat beach in Bol, which is one of the most famous and photographed beaches in Croatia and the entire Adriatic.
